Mary
Ann Drayton-Rogers
& Dave McKane
Announce Re-election Campaign
Mary Ann Drayton-Rogers,
First Selectman of Oxford,
has enthusiastically announced her intention of seeking reelection
to the position she won in November 2007.
“In 2007, realizing
that Oxford needed to move forward in a new direction, I stepped
into the position of First Selectman stating that I would raise the
office to a new level of honesty and openness.
This has been done by acting in a bi-partisan manner and by
achieving results that are in the best interests of our town.
In accomplishing this, I’ve reached
across party lines, worked with and listened to many individuals
from both political parties, appointed the best available people to
boards and committees and treated all with the respect they
deserve.”
“As a result, the sewer and water line from
Great Hill Road
to West Street
is being completed. This
plan of years past, had become a dead issue until I was able to
bring all interested parties together and turn the project into a
much-needed reality.
Being able to turn ideas, plans and dreams into reality has been a
major trademark of my administration.
Commercial development on Route 67 south now has a chance to
develop with much needed medical, retail and convenience services in
Oxford.”...

Life-long Republican
Switches Parties to Support
Mary Ann Drayton-Rogers
John DeGennaro, a life-long Republican, recently switched his party affiliation
to Democratic because of his displeasure with the local Republican Party and
some of its members. He said that the Republican members of the Board of
Finance attack the Board of Education at every meeting and he has grown tired of
their actions. DeGennaro indicated that he is supporting Mary Ann
Drayton-Rogers and Dave McKane in the upcoming election because of how well they
have been managing Oxford for the past two years and their openness to all
parties and people.
The exodus from Oxford's Republican Party, to support the administration of Mary
Ann Drayton-Rogers and Dave McKane, continues to increase. In addition to
DeGennaro, another life-long Republican, Bob DeBisschop, also is supporting
Drayton-Rogers and McKane in the upcoming election. DeGennaro, DeBisschop,
and many other Republicans who are in support of the current Democratic
administration, cite the openness of the Drayton-Rogers and McKane
administration and their willingness to listen to all parties, no matter with
what political party they are affiliated.
