The role of the Board of Finance is to function as a check and balance for the Board of Selectmen. It is ever vigilant on income, expenses and ensuring all budgets are balanced. Oxford Democrats believe that members of
Oxford’s Board of Finance must conduct their responsibilities using best
industry practices. We require that they ensure financial constraint and
avoid potential overspending while promoting town growth.
They must work
with department leaders to control costs by reviewing and analyzing
current/planned financial performance. They must be open and honest in
their disclosures to town officials and to all Oxford residents. Key to their success is to review and analyze current fiscal year performances
with an eye toward future budget requirements and trends. |
