To the residents of
Oxford,
As the results of
Oxford’s budget referendum were read this
past May, it was humbling to know that our residents had recognized
the efforts and struggle put in to preparing the best budget we
possibly could.
Thank you for you vote of confidence in the
boards of Selectmen, Finance and Education.
Speaking for ourselves, I and Selectman McKane, recognize the
difficult economy we are facing at this time and the need to hold
the line on spending.
We appreciate your listening to our reasons for
what was and what had to be included in the budget package.
We also recognize that spending has to be monitored over the
full year to keep everything in tow.
Department heads have already been asked to hold back on
discretionary spending for the remainder of the current fiscal year.
Monthly reports will be prepared to help us watch the
spending of your money throughout fiscal year 2008/2009.
By working together, all boards and commissions
can help us grow while answering to the taxpayers of
Oxford.
Thank you for your confidence.
We pledge to continue to do our best for you.
