Democrats expect our elected officials and all candidates to be
committed to enforcing, monitoring and updating the Town Zoning
Regulations on a continuing basis. They must work closely with the
Inland/Wetland Commission and the Architectural Review Board to guide
applicants through each process.They must evaluate the effectiveness of any proposed development before plans are considered. This approach leads to increases in town tax revenue while maintaining Oxford’s physical, social and economic growth.
Further, we support officials and candidates who protect a land-use pattern that will enhance the value of all residential areas. They must coordinate economic development with clean industry and small business expansion.
We fully expect our officials to understand and be in concert with State Statutes, as required.
